Chuqui chuqui

The Arrival to Bolivia was an experience itself, with the first half of the week in La Paz, we had to instantly adapt to a climate. With intense sunlight and the extreme altitude and the steep hills I instant started feeling fitter and wished I wasn’t so unfit.

We have been in the Bolivia for two weeks now and in that time we have learnt about our projects, met our team leaders, fellow volunteers and our delightful host families, as well as forming expectations of what we want to achieve from this project.

I am part of the Semi-Urban Agriculture group in Chuqui-chuqui, which an hour north Sucre. We are the first group in the area, so we spent most of our time making bonds with the local community. We integrated ourselves into the community with cake baking, exploring and playing football. We’ve started with setting up an office and helping the local community pick the local crops.

With the project only just beginning, we have been carefully planning a great strategy to help the locals. I am looking forward to the future and hoping we make a positive impact on the community.
